Resumo
The first scale to measure impulsivity which was not included in a personality inventory was const ructed by Barratt in 1959 and it is known as BIS-1. Severa! modifications have been made on this scale, which have lead to versions of smaller length until arri\"ing at the present one, that contains 30 items. The last version of this scale (BIS-11) has been made by Patton, Stanford and Barratt (1995) and it has a.factorial structure conformed by sb; fist-order factors and three second order factors. There is a controversy related to the existcnce of the three second a rder factors, given that two of them were consistent with previous results (Barratt, 1985 ; Luengo, Carrillo de la Peña and Otero, 199 1), but it was not the case with the third second-order factor. The objective of this work has been to study the factorial structure of our adaptation of the scale BIS-11
