Abstract
The results obtained by SASW and PS-logging (In-hole) seismic techniques are compared to the relatively new Re-Mi (refraction-microtremor)method at a common site of known deep structure: a recently constructed railway track embankment. PS-logging is the most accurate technique in identifying the structure of the embankment followed by SASW and Re-Mi. Mean shear wave velocity estimations are also higher for PS-logging, followed by SASW and Re-Mi, while mean deviation is similar in each technique. The Re-Mi technique has not been shown to be particularly accurate in this study, though fast data processing makes it very convenient for extensive geotechnical surveys.
