Abstract

The nutritive value and quality of pressed sugar beet pulp was tested with the different amounts of urea (0, 1,5, 4 y 7 Kg./Tm.) and salt. The digestibility coefficient was high for the organic matter (83,8%).and it increased with (88,9 %) for a proportion 4 Kg. urea/Tm. However, the nitrogen matters had a digestibility coefficient lower (58,4 %) and it was increasing significantly (P < 0,01) to amount to maximum (80,7%) for the greatest urea dose. The very best energy and protein value (1,1 UF/Kg. ms and 109 gr./Kg. ms PDIE and 107 gr./Kg. ms PDIN) was got at 4 Kg./Tm. urea dose. Ensilage quality get worse with urea adding up; then, it do not take advise to use that one in proportions greater than 4 Kg./Tm. The amonia concentrations in rumen fluid showed there was not amonia excess whichever urea dose. The acetyc and propionic mean ratio acids (64 and 23 % respectively) indicate that pressed
