Abstract

Sarcopenia is a geriatric syndrome characterized by a progressive and generalized disorder of skeletal muscle morphology and function that is associated with an increased risk of adverse health outcomes, including falls, fractures, functional impairment and increased mortality. All these negative consequences of sarcopenia are associated with an impaired quality of life. In 2015, a disease-specific questionnaire intended to measure the quality of life in patients with sarcopenia, SarQoL®, was developed and validated in French.
