Zusammenfassung

A new concept of "corporation" is being developed in management circles that can be referred to as the "socially responsible corporation". In it, corporate culture is permeated by social responsibility and ethical commitment. This perspective is used to study the term "corporate social responsibility" and the real commitment of organisations to the values that enable sustainable development to take place. It is also considered that ethics in corporations is not a fashion but a necessity, and that reform of corporate governance is evidence of this. The core of corporate social responsibility must lie in the people that make up the community known as a corporation. That involves both listed corporations and SMEs, so social action goes beyond the essence of business. Since knowledge and experience are the soundest pillars of any corporate project, practical guidelines are proposed that take the human factor as an agent for change in organisations in three areas: training, professionalism and ethics.
