Abstract

This special issue, devoted to the analysis of the Arab Spring ten years later and, specifically, to gender issues, includes several papers presented at the conference “The Arab Spring ten years later. Social, political and economic challenges”. The conference, celebrated in February 2021 was organized within the framework of the Research Project “Authoritarianism Resilience, Clash of Islamisms, and Intensification of Sectarianism in the Middle East and North Africa” (CSO2017-86091-P), of the Arab and Islamic Studies Area of Complutense University of Madrid in collaboration with Casa Árabe and the International Studies Complutense Institute (ICEI). It gathers different studies presented at the workshop “Gender, Feminisms and Revolution”. These works are focused to the relationship between the Arab Spring and the processes of change affecting gender dynamics.
