Résumé

Livestock activity has an environment impact, either by through the use of resources, the production process or by the management of its waste. Environmental accounting models are essential to improve understanding of the causes of greenhouse gas (GHC) emissions in the livestock sector across the supply chain. Using these models, it is possible to determine with greater reliability the contribution of this sector to global GHG emissions, the kilograms of carbon dioxide equivalents emitted to obtain a kilogram of protein, the variability between countries and producers, the main sources of GHG emissions of livestock activity, etc.
