Abstract

This Doctoral Thesis aims to study the case of 'La Manada', a rape of five males to a young woman in the Sanfermines of Pamplona (Spain) in 2016. The facts produce an unprecedented social, political and media reaction, with massive mobilizations in the country. This research has two general objectives. First, we seek to conclude whether the frame of the feminist movement, which understands that proven facts constitute a rape,is established on public television (TVE) and political power in the context of #MeToo. We investigate the media and political coverage about rape on 'La Manada'. The intention is to determine the ideological position with regard to judicial proceedings to determine rape myths. The methodology used for the research is a combination of the theories of hegemony, agenda-setting and framing.
