This is due, among other causes, to the lack of early diagnostic markers that allow the identification and evaluation of incipient renal dysfunction, as well as early clinical intervention. As a result, the diagnosis of CKD occurs too late, when there is already an established renal damage that is difficult to reverse. This leads to significant cardiovascular (CV) mortality, a problem that is aggravated in diabetic patients.
