Anisakiosis is defined as the human disease caused by the accidental ingestion of live third-stage larvae of anisakids (Anisakis) due to the consumption of raw or undercooked fish. It can trigger both different phenotypes acute urticaria and chronic urticaria, depending on the host's immune response.Gastro-allergic Anisakiosis (GAA) is characterized by an acute allergic reaction (urticaria, angioedema, anaphylaxis), generally lasting less than 48 hours, which may be accompanied by digestive symptoms. Chronic Urticaria associated with sensitization to Anisakis simplex (CU+) shows prolonged and chronic urticarial manifestations. Both pathologies are caused by contact with the live larvae of the parasite, and currently have an estimated prevalence of 0.6% and an accumulated incidence of 2.9% in Spain...
