Resumen

Modern construction methods of wide application in urban areas and in projects of variousdestinations, are a very important field in Architecture and Civil Engineering, however, not all of themare appropriate or adequate for their application and development in rural environments. Many of thesecontexts have been threatened by the construction of infrastructure whose application does not take intoconsideration aspects of different kinds, such as climate, available resources, customs and ancestralknowledge. Therefore, through different activities, courses and seminars are organized to encouragearchitects and engineers to be sensitive to this rural problem and to encourage interdisciplinary action-research by working with communities to promote the appropriation and cohesion of the social fabric. The course was raised from this reflection in the municipality of Ambalema, Tolima,Colombia, which holds a declaration of national monument.
