Abstract

"Introduction" Mentha longifolia L. has a wide geographic distribution that can be onsidered a sign of adaptability that is reflected in the existence of different hemotypes. In addition to its traditional uses, other alternative uses could be explored. "Objectives and results" The plant material is a chemotype of M. longifolia L. from Saudi Arabia and the main objective is to analyze its possible alternative uses. To achieve this objective, the antioxidant capacity of the aqueous extract (Tea) of M. longifolia L. will be analyzed. In addition, its phytochemical composition will be analyzed to identify the different metabolites involved in its antioxidant capacity. Among the partial objectives of the work are: - Increase the concentration of some phytochemicals through both biotic and abiotic elicitation in the cultivation of M. longifolia L. plants. - Study the possible use of M. longifolia L. tea in the biological control of the phytopathogenic fungus responsible for the anthracnose of the olive tree, C. gloesporioides.- Study the possible use of M. longifolia L. tea in the green synthesis of silver nanoparticles...
