Abstract

The need of specialized nurses in the field of care management and the current legislation, which restricts the different branches in nurse to the clinical field, are the main reasons why in Universidad Europea de Madrid has been designed the Master's Degree in Nursing Management. This is aimed at nurse managers and is taught simultaneously in an online and campus based format, so that the students may combine their studies with their professional activity. The aim of this article is to deepen in the virtual methodology, analyzing the student satisfaction in academic year 2010-2011, as well as checking if there exist significant differences regarding students mark between both formats. The main results highlight the importance of the professor as a guide in the learning process, giving meaning and coherence to the other factors of the pedagogical model. Other important elements in our model are the learning guide, the unit forum and the individual activities. On the other hand, there are some elements in our pedagogical model which need to be improved, such as the collaborative work or the use of multimedia resources. The best student marks were obtained in Master's Thesis, where there not exist significant differences between online and campus-based modality. In conclusion, it is important to point out that the main value of Nurse Management Master's Degree is that it allows the learning adapted to the needs of the nurse who develop his work in different areas of management nurse
