Resumo
Young people share an important part of their daily lives in the digital ecosystem generating situations of strong emotional impact. This study identifies those situations in which young Spaniards (between 18 and 35 years old) feel vulnerable in the online environment based on their emotions, attitudes and lived experiences, also makes an x-ray of the sociodemographic profile of the most vulnerable young people in the digital world. The information was collected through a qualitative methodology using focus groups and a quantitative methodology using a representative sample of 1,500 young people. Main findings have led to the identification of a “digital vulnerability territories map” of young people. This map shows important nuances in emotional narratives that depend on the level of maturity and digital experiences over the years. Women and the youngest segment of the group (18-21 years old) appear as the most sensitive to different situations of digital vulnerability.
