Resum
In this paper I examine, on a gender-based approach, the regulation of work-related temporary incapacities (professional contingencies). After revisiting academic literature that shows a lack of sensitivity on wornen's specific problems other than pregnancy or maternity related, I present data that demonstrates a higher rate of incidence on female workers' professional diseases (and the opposite for work-related accidents). This evidence ís explained by the specific risks of the activities in w~ich each gender.
