Percepción social del impacto psicológico derivado de la pandemia de la COVID19

Resumen

Objetivo: conocer cuál es la percepción, en la población general española, del impacto psicológico derivado de la pandemia de la COVID-19, y si esta se ajusta a la evidencia empírica reciente. Método: se elaboró una encuesta online en la que se recogieron las estimaciones de los participantes (n=1117) de la probabilidad de desarrollar problemas psicológicos o Trastorno de Estrés Postraumático (TEPT) según el tipo de acontecimiento vivido en el contexto pandémico. Resultados: las diferentes comparaciones con datos normativos muestran una sobreestimación de las secuelas psicológicas derivadas de la crisis sanitaria en la muestra estudiada, tanto para la población general como para los profesionales sanitarios en activo. Además, se encuentra que algunos grupos, concretamente las mujeres, los jóvenes (18-25 años) y los participantes sin estudios en Ciencias de la Salud y que no trabajan en este ámbito profesional, pronostican de forma significativa (p < ,05) más problemas de salud mental frente a los demás grupos. Discusión: se hace necesario trasladar a la población general, así como a instituciones y medios de comunicación, la importancia de difundir datos ajustados a la evidencia disponible y con ello promover la creación de redes de apoyo y distribución adecuada de recursos.
