Abstract
The ever-increasing importance of research quality control requires work on the Design of Quality Assurance Systems related to project management. This paper describes the quality management model of the MUSACCES Consortium (funded by the CAM and the EU) and its research project on the improvement of access to the cultural heritage of the Prado Museum. Since it is a coordinated action with a large number of organizations and researchers, it was necessary to establish a SGIC with three priorities in mind: internal coordination, institutional relations and relations with private and public firms, and knowledge transfer and dissemination. The core elements of this SGIC are the following: the representation of all groups, the principle of supervised participatory management and the allocation of Quality tasks based on work schedules. The model is grounded upon the work of internal commissions, the establishment of working protocols, the analysis of quantitative production indicators, and the fulfillment of audits with regards to objectives, results and budget. The model can be applied to other coordinated projects at the national scope and, in particular, to international projects.
