Prostate cancer (PCa) is the non-cutaneous most frequent tumor and the second cause of cancer deaths in men. The EAU Guidelines recommend RP or RT for localized PCa treatment. However, they note that no surgical approach has clearly shown superiority in results. Nevertheless, numerous authors advocate for the minimally invasive access due to the theoretical better results. They are based mostly in American studies, where the two approaches compared are the open with the robotic access. In Spain, the laparoscopic access is the minimally invasive technique widely implemented. Based in those studies, the open approach has been almost replaced in the centers where the laparoscopic technology is available. However, the comparation between open and laparoscopic access in thescientific literature is narrower as there is no high-level evidence about this question...
