Doctor by the Universidad Complutense de Madrid with the thesis La cuestión de Gibraltar orígenes del problema y propuestas de restitución (1704-1900) 1997. Supervised by Dr. Felipe Sahagún.

Professor of IR at the Complutense U. since 2004. I have held different management positions: Vice-Dean of Master Studies and External Practices (4 years), Academic Secretary of the Department (three years), Coordinator of the MU in International Politics, Coordinator of the MU in Defense and International Security Politics and Coordinator of the IR line of the Ph. D. in Political Science and International Relations of the Faculty of Political and Social Sciences (8 years). Elected representative of the UCM Senate and member of the Faculty Board. She has been named Professor Honoris Causa by the Brazilian Ministry of Defence at the proposal of the Escola de Comando e Estado Maior do Exército do Brasil (ECEME-Rio de Janeiro). She has been awarded the Cross of Military Merit with White Distinction by the Spanish Ministry of Defense. Visiting Scholar at: Inter-American Defense College (Washington D.C.) (2022), U. of California at San Diego (2019), U. of California at Los Angeles (2014). Short stays: U. de La Plata, U. de Lanús, U. de Varsovia (Poland), U. Autónoma Lisboa, U. Coimbra, ECEME (Rio de Janeiro) and URAP (Moscow). I have directed and/or participated in 8 teaching innovation projects. I have directed 11 doctoral theses. I have attended more than 80 national and international conferences and I have directed 14 conferences. I have published 3 books as author, 3 as editor, 35 book chapters and 19 articles.
