Doctor by the Universidad Complutense de Madrid with the thesis Socialismo, igualdad en la educación y democracia la experiencia de González y Mitterrand 2001. Supervised by Dr. Gøsta Esping-Andersen.
Senior Lecturer in the Department of Applied Sociology at the Faculty of Education, Complutense University of Madrid (UCM). Her expertise is the sociology of education. She has completed three six-year research periods, the most recent of which was awarded in 2021, and received a “Diploma of Teaching Excellence” in the 2021–22 academic year. She has recently published a textbook on the Sociology of Education entitled “The Challenge of Education: A Sociological Perspective” (Ed. Síntesis). She has published in high-impact journals in the top quartiles of the JCR or SCOPUS rankings, as well as with prestigious publishers, both national and international. She is currently co-director of the Research Group in the Sociology of Education (GRISE) at the UCM and coordinates the Julio Carabaña Seminar on the Sociology of Education at that university.
