Enver Joel Torregroza is a philosopher whose work centers on moral and social philosophy, in particular the role of philosophy in moral and political life. He has also a special interest in ethical and social dimensions of emotional experiences. He works at the Department of Philosophy and Society at the Complutense University of Madrid and teaches at the Faculty of Social Work and in the Sciences of Religion Undergraduate Program at the UCM. ​ Prof. Torregroza Lara is Member of the Research Group "History and Ontology of the Present" at UCM. A recurrent subject of his research in the field of History of Philosophy is the Colombian thinker Nicolás Gómez Dávila. He is also a well know expert in the philosophy of Hans Blumenberg. He has published articles and books about Maimonides, Derrida, Arendt, Blumenberg, and Nicolás Gómez Dávila. He is the President of the Hispanic-American Blumenberg Society and Managing Editor of the journal Revista de Hispanismo Filosófico. Prof. Torregroza Lara is Summa Cum Laude Ph.D. in Philosophy from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, Magister in Philosophy from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, and Graduate in Philosophy from Universidad Nacional de Colombia. ​ He was invited as Visiting Professor at Universidad Pontificia de Comillas, Department of Philosophy, and in the Master of Spanish and Ibero-American Thought at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. He was invited also and as Visiting Researcher at Faculty of Philosophy of UCM, and at Instituto de Historia of the Spanish National Research Council. Enver J. Torregroza has taught seminars on Classical Political Philosophy, History of Civilizations, Ethics, Deconstruction, Argumentation, Ancient and Medieval Philosophy and Research Methodology in Social Sciences. He also taught at the Universidad del Rosario, Pontificia Universidad Javeriana and Universidad Libre in Bogotá.
