Abstract
The analysis of the didactic transposition processes is an important research domain in the didactics of mathematics. In this paper we reflect on the researcher's need of creating their own epistemological reference models when tackling didactic transposition analyses. Specifically, we focus on the teaching and learning of "numbers" in Early Childhood Education. Within it, we propose an alternative epistemological model, which it is applied to analyse school textbooks, resulting in the identification of some didactic problems and phenomena.
