Abstract

A revision of the theoretical and experimental studies of the Psycholinguistic Behaviour Model of Charles E. Osgood has been carried out. From the analisys of the Model and its instrument of validation -the Semantic Differential- a number of inadequacies are deduced: that language cannot be explained starting from the Osgoodian usage of the Learning Theory. To its theoretical inadequancies in relation to that refered to, it can be added that the Semantic Differential does not constitute a test of conditioning, but rather a task of inmediate memory categorization (Short-term memory). The result of the S. D. are derived from this type of experimental design.
