Abstract

The aim of this paper is to establish multivariates typologies around the construct of Effective Personality in the context of chilean university education. We applied the Personality Effective Questionnaire in contexts differentiated, PECED, (Martín del Buey y Dapello, 2006) to a sample of 120 chilean university students. The result is four clusters: a cluster with high scores on the four factors of the questionnaire (Type I), another cluster with low scores on the four factors (Type III) and two clusters with high scores in two of the four factors (Type II Academic self-realization and Resolutive self-efficacy and Type III Self-Esteem and Social self-realization). It describes the differential characteristics of these four types, as well as educational implications arising from the personal and social competence profiles that define each type.
