Abstract

II. ABSTRACT We present this text with the purpose of deepening the use of audiovisuals as a specific form of help in therapuetic contexts. A deductive analysis is made to limit and define the subjective uses of audiovisual techniques in therapy, through analysis of experimental sources related to psychotherapy and self. On the other hand, within the specific framework of the Lab Taller de Videoterapia Experimental investigating methodological proposals for the application in therapy since 2005, a field work on the group intervention is carried out within the model developed in this context as Videogestalt Grupal. A descriptive study provides the experience of a group of eight volunteer subjects who participated in a workshop convened for this purpose in 2012. The purpose of this study is to strengthen the theoretical bases of Video Therapy as a discipline and Audiovisual Psychotherapy as a model of procedural intervention within humanistic-existential methodological frameworks, according to Mahoney's classification (Mahoney, 1989, 1991, Feixas and Miró, 1993) . In order to do so, it analyzes, describes and reflects on the epistemology of the therapist's frame as a coparticipant in the result of the experience and specifically, in the ontological position of the researcher.
