Abstract
Expository texts are widely used as a resource in Science classrooms but in many occasions, difficulties can be laid out for student´s comprenhension. In this article, we investigated reading comprenhension monitoring in a group of Secondary students to identify metacognitive behavior in a error detection activity. Materials were scientific manipulated short texts. Results showed important percentages of students having difficulties related to metacomprehension. We offer here some recommendations focused in educational intervention, aimed at how teachers can improve student´s self-regulation
