The educational potential of university housing is a prolific line of research in the United States. Despite the long tradition of residential colleges in Europe, their educational value in comparison to other housing solutions has hardly been studied. Therefore, this research explores the influence of university housing on comprehensive training with the peer group through a cross-sectional quantitative design, in which 393 students residing in different spaces participated. The results found significant differences in terms of participation in conferences, integral formation activities and assumption of service responsibilities in favor of those students who resided in the Colegios Mayores. In conclusion, the Colegios Mayores are formative spaces that foster a holistic education of students.
