Doctor by the Universidad Complutense de Madrid with the thesis Metodologías radicales para la comprensión de las artes visuales en primaria y secundaria en contextos museísticos en Madrid capital 2008. Supervised by Dr. María Acaso López Bosch, Dr. Ana María Ullán de la Fuente.

Noelia Antúnez del Cerro is PhD in Fine Arts from the Department of Didactics of Plastic Expression of the Faculty of Fine Arts of the UCM and Extraordinary Doctorate Award 2007/2008 with her thesis "Radical methodologies for the understanding of visual arts in primary and secondary schools in Madrid capital". She currently works as a Professor in the Department of Sculpture and Artistic Training of the Faculty of Fine Arts of the UCM and holds the position of Coordinator of projects of the MuPAI (Pedagogical Museum of Children's Art) and of the specialty of Plastic Arts in the Master's Degree in Teacher Training for Secondary Education at the UCM. In the museum field, she has collaborated in the development of educational programs for La Casa Encendida, Fundación Telefónica and Fundación ICO (in addition to the MuPAI), carrying out tasks of management, coordination, design and teaching of activities to children, adolescents, adults and families, as well as training of trainers. Within the training of museum educators, she has participated as coordinator and teacher for Fundación Telefónica (2009) and in the Diploma of Artistic Education and Museum Management at the University of Valencia (2011–2013). In addition, she has launched, together with Juan Antonio Castro, Film Holidays (2007-2019) and compluCINE (2008-2019), film activities for adolescents and adults, and Creative Encounters (2019-current), a project for artists with and without intellectual disabilities, together with Javier Albar and Julia Morla. In recent years, she has carried out teaching and research stays at CCE Miami (United States), Kunsthøgskolen i Oslo (Norway), Malmö högskola (Sweden), Te Papa Museum and Auckland War Memorial Museum (New Zealand), related to his lines of research. She has also been part of the coordination committee of the two editions of the Secondary Education Teacher Training Sessions (2005, 2007) and of the last two editions of the International Congress of Children and Adolescent Art (2004, 2010). In the field of artistic creation, she works with painting, object art and textiles, being the founder of the Textile Creation Club of the Faculty of Fine Arts of the UCM together with Marta García Cano. She has also participated in various audiovisual projects (fiction works, educational videos) performing various functions (production and art).
