Guillermina Belavi is Lecturer in Sociology of Education of the Department of Applied Sociology of the Complutense University of Madrid. She studies the relationship between politics and education, particularly in issues of democracy and social justice. Currently she participates in the R&D Project «Transformative resistance in schools. Counternarratives in education for social justice» (Ref. 2021/122310NB-I00). She is a member of the UNESCO Chair in Education for Social Justice, of the DEMOSPAZ Institute (Culture of Peace Foundation and UAM), of the Research Group in Sociology of Education (GRISE-UCM), of the Educational Change Research Group for Social Justice (GICE-UAM) and the Research Network on Leadership and Improvement of Education (RILME). She has a degree in Political Science from the National University of Rosario and a Phd in Education from the Autonomous University of Madrid. Her Phd was realized thanks to a Contract for the Training of Research Personnel (FPI-UAM). She did pre- and post-doctoral international research stays. Her work was recognized with the Graphic Humor Award (UAM Literary Contest 2018-2019), the Extraordinary Thesis Award (UAM 2019) and the Best Social and Inclusion Thesis Award (UAM 2020).
